Located in the heart of Loresho, Wasp and Sprout Cafe is a family-owned coffee shop which believes in fresh, local ingredients and delicious coffee. It was started as a hobby in furniture making in 2010. It has grown into an independent family run workshop, retail shop and cafe in Nairobi. The cafe has its main location at Old Loresho Shopping Centre, Loresho Ridge Road, Loreto, Nairobi. Additionally, the Wasp and Sprout cafe has another branch location at Sagana in Central Kenya.
Their menu includes salads, sandwiches, and snacks as well as cold brew coffee. The restaurant has much focus on friendliness, simplicity and transparency.
Wasp & Sprout Cafe offers international cuisines. It is petty friendly and also has Vegan options. They put much care on the background and sustainability of each and everything they source and serve. The restaurant takes pride in commitment to quality and the community they serve.
From plants potted in tin cans, mismatched seat covers with kanga fabric to sisal woven lampshades, the restaurant has an uncoordinated flair that works well. This little café in the leafy suburbs of Loresho feels comfortable and welcoming, with candles flickering on the tables all day long. Furthermore, the café has a monthly schedule of open-mic sessions for Nairobi’s up and upcoming musicians.
All the furniture used in this cafe are handmade by the owners of the café. The furniture plus other artwork are available for purchase for all its visitors. The café management gives an opportunity to its visitors or guests to even commission their own furniture designs, to be made there. After enjoying your meal, you can swing by the farm shop next door for jams, cups, bags of coffee, and more. Also important to note, the cafe offers its services at friendly prices.
